Uzbek judoka wins gold at Tbilisi Grand Slam tournament
Umar Bozorov outshone his French opponent in the final stage of the competition held in Tbilisi.
The Grand Slam judo tournament concluded in Tbilisi, Georgia. In the -90 kg weight category, Uzbekistan’s Umar Bozorov claimed the gold medal.
In this highly competitive weight class, which featured Olympic and world championship medalists, Bozorov defeated France’s Alexis Mathieu in the final bout.
As a result, the Uzbekistan national team completed the tournament with a total of one gold and two bronze medals.
As a reminder, on the opening day of the competition, Azizbek Ortiqov and Abdurahim Nutfullayev secured bronze medals in the -66 kg weight category.
