ZEEKR EV catches fire while charging in Tashkent
The Tashkent City Department of Emergency Situations has released information regarding the incident.
According to the department, on April 10 at 07:30 AM, a report was received about an electric vehicle on fire on Furqat Street in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent. Fire and rescue teams arrived at the scene by 07:35, and the blaze was fully extinguished by 08:28. It was determined that the fire originated from the vehicle’s battery compartment.
“Dear citizens, we remind you that since electric vehicle batteries store a large amount of energy, in accordance with international practices, cooling of the battery must continue until all internal electrical energy is fully discharged. For this reason, extinguishing an electric vehicle fire differs from that of a conventional gasoline-powered vehicle,” the department explained.
Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire and assess the material damage.
