IsDB to fund inclusive school project in Uzbekistan with $40 million grant
An agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Human Capability Initiative 2025 international forum in Riyadh. Uzbekistan was the only Central Asian country invited to the event.

Uzbekistan is participating in the Human Capability Initiative 2025, an international forum held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, according to Hilola Umarova, Minister of Preschool and School Education.
Notably, Uzbekistan is the only country from Central Asia to be invited to this high-profile event.
The forum is held annually under the patronage of Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Participants from various countries gather to discuss current issues in education, the economy, and technology, while seeking innovative solutions.
On the first day of the forum, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) signed an agreement for a $40 million grant.
In addition, a grant agreement in the field of education was signed with the support of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE).
Key components of the project include:
• Construction of 58 new inclusive schools across the country;
• Equipping schools with modern facilities;
• Teacher training and professional development programs;
• Expansion of inclusive education;
• Curriculum enhancement;
• Improving the quality of preschool education.
