Medical hotline sees 8% surge in emergency calls

According to the Health Ministry’s press service, a total of 6,912,243 calls were received by the 103 emergency medical service across Uzbekistan between January and June 2025.

This represents an 8.4% increase, or approximately 535,000 more calls, compared to the same period in 2024.

The majority of these calls — 4,992,108 — were related to urgent medical conditions. Other categories included:

• Chronic illnesses – 1,802,348 cases
• Patient transportation – 66,917 cases
• Childbirth-related calls – 50,870 cases

The regions with the highest number of emergency calls were:

• Tashkent City – 718,819
• Fergana Region – 681,580
• Surkhandarya Region – 661,767
• Namangan Region – 647,493
• Andijan Region – 642,366

The regions with the lowest number of emergency calls were:

• Navoi Region – 199,930
• Syrdarya Region – 221,407
• Jizzakh Region – 267,669

The Ministry of Health also noted that 2,857 medical brigades are currently operating within the emergency response service across the country.
