According to a presidential decision, as of May 1, Uzbekistan began providing monthly compensation to low-income families for electricity and gas expenses. The state covers the difference between the basic and increased tariff rates for 150 kWh of electricity and 150 cubic meters of natural gas.
According to the Ministry of Energy, over 1.6 million applications were received for compensation in May and June. Of these, 843,000 households were included in the official registry, while 758,000 households were outside the registry.
In total, 7.4 billion UZS was paid to households whose consumption exceeded the basic limit during the two-month period, including:

- 4.2 billion UZS for 223,600 households in June
All compensation payments were fully transferred to citizens’ bank cards. Compensation for July will be paid in August.
The Ministry of Energy reminded the public that to receive compensation, individuals must contact their local social worker, visit their district’s “Inson” Social Services Center, or call the 1140 hotline.
