Green energy accounts for 17% of July electricity output in Uzbekistan

Currently, Uzbekistan operates 11 solar photovoltaic stations and 4 wind power stations with a combined capacity of 4,119 megawatts, all contributing to the country’s growing “green” energy sector.

“It should be noted that generating 1.246 billion kWh of electricity in July is a new record for our national energy system,” the ministry said in a statement.

This amount accounts for 17% of the country’s total electricity generation for the month. Of the total, 760.9 million kWh came from solar power plants and 485.4 million kWh from wind power plants.

As a result of this output:

• 377.5 million cubic meters of natural gas were saved;
• Emissions of harmful gases into the atmosphere were reduced by 1.12 million tons.

Previously, in May 2025, solar and wind power plants had collectively generated 1.104 billion kWh of electricity – the highest monthly result at the time. The July figure exceeded this by 142 million kWh.
