Shavkat Mirziyoyev awards French ambassador with Order of Friendship
On 14 August, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Uzbekistan, Aurélia Bouchez, who is completing her diplomatic mission in the country.
The president praised the ambassador’s productive work and her personal contribution to the development and strengthening of strategic partnership between the two countries.
It was noted that recent high-level reciprocal visits had helped elevate Uzbekistan–France cooperation to a qualitatively new stage. In recent years, bilateral trade has quadrupled, and projects worth more than $10 billion have been implemented in partnership with leading French companies and organizations.
Important programmes are also being carried out in education, healthcare, and cultural and humanitarian exchanges. Exhibitions at the Louvre Museum and the Arab World Institute have been held with great success. A monument to Al-Biruni has been unveiled near Paris, and a street in the French capital has been named after Samarkand. This year, the Uzbekistan–France University will open in Tashkent.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented Ambassador Aurélia Bouchez with the Order of Friendship in recognition of her significant contribution to strengthening ties of friendship and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and France.
