Uzbekistan adopts development strategy for Karakalpakstan until 2035
Uzbekistan has adopted a strategy for the socio-economic development of the Republic of Karakalpakstan until 2035. The document will be implemented in stages through detailed five-year programs.
According to a presidential decree “On further accelerating measures aimed at the socio-economic development of the Republic of Karakalpakstan”, key targets have been set for 2025–2026.
In particular, the plan envisions raising gross regional product growth to 6–6.5%, increasing industrial output by 5–6%, and expanding the services market by 15–17%.
To finance the program, foreign investments of $150–200 million are expected to be attracted within the framework of the Program-for-Results (PforR) financing system.
