Over 700,000 traffic violations recorded in Uzbekistan in one month
Between July 15 and August 15, more than 707,000 traffic rule violations were registered across Uzbekistan. The figures were released by the Ministry of İnternal Affairs following the second stage of the campaign “Safe and healthy country.”
During this period, nearly 85,000 vehicles belonging to violators were sent to impound lots, while 153,000 citizens received warnings for leaving cars, bicycles, and carts unattended.
Authorities also installed 18,700 road signs, 270 traffic lights, applied 772,000 square meters of road markings, built 580 elevated pedestrian crossings, and repaired 7,100 traffic lights.
In Tashkent and other regions, illegally installed barriers and prohibited signs were dismantled in 18 mahallas.
As a result of these measures, the number of traffic accidents fell by 41.3 percent compared to the previous month.
In addition, 153,816 surveillance cameras were set up in mahallas and residential areas. Security systems were installed to protect 6,392 stores and 5,949 houses, while physical protection was provided for 2,031 facilities.
Overall, crime in the country decreased by 29 percent, preventable crimes by 39 percent, and the crime detection rate increased by 50 percent.
