On 27 August, he is scheduled to meet with Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov. Within the framework of the first strategic dialogue between the foreign ministries of the two countries, the sides will exchange views on further developing relations in areas such as politics, economy, and culture, as well as on jointly responding to global challenges.
It was noted that Japan will continue to assist Uzbekistan in training specialists, promoting green energy, improving the quality of basic social services, and other areas. In this way, Japan seeks to expand the potential for mutually beneficial cooperation with a rapidly developing Uzbekistan.
According to Iwaya, the Uzbekistan pavilion at the World Expo in Osaka – which opened in April this year under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives” – has been attracting numerous visitors every day with its “Garden of Knowledge” concept. On 17 August, a special event was held to mark Uzbekistan’s National Day, featuring Gayane Umerova, head of the Creative Economy and Tourism Department of the Presidential Administration.
“We hope that the Expo will serve as an important driver in strengthening economic and humanitarian ties between our two countries at various levels. With about a month and a half left until the end of the exhibition, we expect even more visitors from Uzbekistan to come to Japan,” the Japanese foreign minister said.
