Uzbekistan to allow personalized license plates from 2026
Starting 1 January 2026, “unique” state license plates featuring up to six letters and/or numbers will be available for purchase through open electronic auctions.
The state unitary enterprise “Uzavtomotobelgi” has been granted the right to issue such personalized plates for motor vehicles via online auctions, according to a government decree reported by UzA.
The new plates must not duplicate existing state license numbers and cannot contain content that violates legislation or moral norms.
For example, soon we may see vehicles on the streets with license plates displaying names or words such as “SARVAR,” “AZIZA,” “ODIL,” or “BUXORO.”
