Uzbekistan directs close to half of budget expenditures to social sector in H1 2025
In the first half of 2025, Uzbekistan allocated UZS 86.2 trillion from the state budget to social sectors. This was announced at the latest session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.
It was noted that spending on social sectors increased by UZS 12.1 trillion compared to the same period in 2024, accounting for 49.8 percent of total expenditures.
Overall, during the reporting period, state budget revenues amounted to UZS 144.2 trillion – up 19.2 percent from the same period last year – with revenue targets for almost all types of taxes fully met.
Meanwhile, budget expenditures reached UZS 173.3 trillion, an increase of 16 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
Lawmakers emphasized that ensuring social stability, improving living standards, and creating decent conditions for citizens remain among the key priorities of the government’s fiscal policy.
