Uzbekistan ranks among world’s top 10 gold producers
In 2024, Uzbekistan ranked tenth among the world’s largest gold producers, according to the World Gold Council (WGC).

Last year, the country mined 129.1 tons of the precious metal, accounting for 3.5% of global output. Worldwide gold production reached 3,661 tons – an increase of 0.5% compared to 2023.
The leading gold producers were China (380 tons), Russia (330 tons), Australia (284 tons), Canada (202 tons), and the United States (158 tons).
Jewelry manufacturing remains the primary consumer of gold. In 2024, the sector used 2,003.5 tons – a decline of 9% compared to the previous year. At the same time, global demand for gold fell by 11% to 1,877.1 tons, mainly due to rising prices. Nevertheless, spending on jewelry increased by 9%, reaching $144 billion.
