Gold in Uzbekistan up 33% since January amid global price surge
The precious metal on the global market has approached the $3,700 mark per troy ounce.
Gold bullion prices in Uzbekistan once again set a new all-time high on Wednesday, September 17, the Central Bank reported.
One gram of the precious metal is priced at UZS 1,510,660, up 0.36% for the day. A 5-gram bar costs UZS 7.553 million – UZS 22,000 above the previous record.
Gold has broken price records on the local market for the 30th time since the beginning of this year. Over eight and a half months, it has risen by 33.4%, and on a yearly basis the increase stands at 38.3% (up from UZS 1,092,460).
On the global market, the spot price of gold is $3,681 per troy ounce (equivalent to $118.35 per gram). The daily peak on the COMEX exchange reached $3,688.51 – 44% higher than a year ago.
