Uzbekistan introduces mandatory licenses and registration for mopeds and scooters from October 1
Drivers are urged to register their vehicles and obtain a category “A” license before this date.
Earlier it was reported that moped and scooter drivers would need to obtain a category “A” driver’s license by March 1, 2025, and register their vehicles by September 30, 2025.
The Main Directorate of Road Safety under the Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded that starting from October 1, operating mopeds and scooters will only be allowed after state registration and with a category “A” driver’s license.
This rule applies to mopeds and scooters already in use with an engine capacity from 25 cm³ to 50 cm³ inclusive, as well as those with an electric motor power from 0.25 kW to 4 kW inclusive and a design speed from 25 km/h to 50 km/h inclusive.
Drivers were urged to complete registration in advance and comply with the established legal requirements.
