Over 6,000 passengers fined in Tashkent for fare evasion

More than 6,000 passengers have been fined in Tashkent since the beginning of the year for traveling on buses without paying the fare, the Ministry of Transport reported.
According to the ministry, the Transport Control Inspectorate, together with the State Institution for Monitoring and Control of Public Transport in Tashkent, has been conducting intensified inspections targeting passengers who ride without tickets.
As a result, administrative measures were applied to 6,182 violators this year.
Under paragraph 5 of Article 144 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, fare evasion on city and suburban bus routes carries a fine equal to one-tenth of the basic calculation amount – UZS 41,200.
