Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover exceeds $51 billion in eight months
Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover reached $51.4 billion in January–August 2025, up by $8.5 billion or 19.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
According to the National Statistics Committee, exports rose by 31.3 percent to $22.9 billion, while imports grew by 11.8 percent to $28.5 billion. The trade deficit stood at $5.4 billion.
Goods accounted for 75.2 percent of exports, including industrial products (11.1 percent), food products and live animals (7.8 percent), chemicals and related products (5.9 percent), and mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials (4.4 percent).
Imports were dominated by machinery and transport equipment, which made up 33.8 percent of the total. Industrial products accounted for 16.1 percent, services 10 percent, and chemicals and related products 12.6 percent.
Uzbekistan currently trades with 200 countries. The largest volumes of trade were recorded with China (18.9 percent) and Russia (16.1 percent).
Trade with China reached $9.7 billion, of which $8.45 billion was imports and $1.2 billion exports. Compared to the same period last year, trade turnover increased by $1.7 billion.
Trade with Russia rose by $509 million to $8.3 billion, with imports totaling $5.43 billion and exports $2.8 billion.
Kazakhstan remained Uzbekistan’s third-largest trading partner, with turnover increasing by $394 million to $3 billion.
