Uzbekistan and the United States expand economic and investment partnerships

Uzbekistan and the United States have signed a series of agreements aimed at strengthening trade, economic, and investment cooperation. The signing ceremony took place in New York following a roundtable with senior executives of leading U.S. companies, investment funds, and financial institutions, attended by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and U.S. Presidential Special Envoy Sergio Gor.

The agreements span a wide range of sectors, reflecting growing interest in Uzbekistan’s reform-driven economy. In transport, the Ministry of Transport reached a long-term cooperation deal with Boeing. In the mining industry, Technopark LLC partnered with Denmark’s FLSmidth to launch a joint venture producing mining equipment.

The healthcare sector will see new investment through an agreement between Akfa Group and the Cleveland Clinic to establish a multi-specialty clinic and an educational institution. Centrum Air signed a partnership deal with U.S. investment firm Oppenheimer, while the Ministry of Economy and Finance entered into a cooperation agreement with Citigroup.

Energy and industrial projects also featured prominently. Uzbekhydroenergo JSC concluded a financial cooperation agreement with Cargill Financial Services International, and Uztransgaz JSC signed a deal with Pangea Filtration Technology. The Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology agreed with Cove Capital to conduct geological exploration in prospective fields, while Yangi Kon LLC partnered with SLB on future cooperation.

In addition, the Uzbekistan Fund for Reconstruction and Development and Biologic International signed an agreement to create financing mechanisms for projects in artificial intelligence and biotechnology.

The breadth of agreements underscores Uzbekistan’s drive to attract international investment and expand strategic partnerships with U.S. companies across key sectors of the economy.
