The figures were presented by Sohibjon Murodov, director of the State Assets Management Agency, at the SamAuto Supplier Day international business meeting in Samarkand on October 19.

The event focused on strengthening industrial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey and brought together more than 150 representatives of government bodies, industrial enterprises and business communities from both countries.

Murodov described Turkish investors as long-term strategic partners, emphasizing that privatization involves more than transferring state assets to private ownership. It is also intended to attract investment, modernize enterprises, introduce advanced technologies and create jobs.

The privatization of SamAuto was among the key topics discussed at the meeting. In 2025, Turkish manufacturer Anadolu Isuzu acquired a 75.2% stake in the Uzbek vehicle producer.

The State Assets Management Agency said the deal had created additional opportunities to develop production, increase the share of locally sourced components and expand the company’s export potential.

The agency encouraged Turkish investors to take a more active role in Uzbekistan’s privatization program and pursue new investment projects in the country.
