Uzbekistan launches UGaz system to monitor gas filling stations in real time

A new system – UGaz – has been introduced at vehicle gas filling stations across Uzbekistan. The system automatically verifies in real time whether a vehicle has passed technical inspection, whether the type of fuel is compatible, and whether the cylinder is registered. To ensure transparency, it also provides accurate accounting of the volume of gas received by each station.

According to the Ministry of Energy, the system was implemented by the “Single Integrator Uzinfocom” and records operations at compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations in real time.

The ministry noted that UGaz records every operation at gas filling stations in real time, which:

  • reduces the need for manual accounting;
  • prevents illegal activities;
  • ensures transparency of operations;
  • increases safety levels for consumers.

When a vehicle enters a filling station, the system automatically checks whether it has a valid technical inspection. If the inspection period has expired, the operator is immediately notified.

The system also alerts operators if the fuel type is incompatible or if the cylinder is not registered.

“The system ensures transparency in the sale of natural gas. Each station now has accurate records of the gas volumes it receives, helping to prevent unlawful use of natural gas. Another important aspect is that every gas filling column and the work of its operator are monitored online. All service processes at CNG filling stations are integrated with relevant ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Tax Committee, Toshshahartansxizmat JSC, the e-Government Systems platform, Energonazorat, and One ID,” the ministry’s statement said.
