Woman blames district governor after family left homeless in Namangan

A resident of Namangan’s Norin district left a letter accusing the district governor of leaving her family homeless. The letter was affixed to the wall of the governor’s container office a day after he moved in.

Earlier, images of the letter circulated on social media. In it, the author wrote that she and her family became homeless due to the governor’s decision.

“Because of your decision, we became homeless. My mother passed away in hardship. I am married now. My younger brother is still without a home and cannot marry. We hope one day you return to your house, while we have been unable to return to ours for 13 years,” the letter read.

The letter appeared after the Norin district governor, who faced criticism from the president, moved into an old container in the Shurariq neighborhood.

The district administration responded to the incident, stating that a working group had been established to investigate.

It was noted that the letter’s author, Salima Qoldosheva, had not previously submitted complaints to the governor or the district administration regarding her situation.

“Her case has now been reviewed in detail. Practical assistance is being provided to S. Qoldosheva by the district governor. She has been included in the ‘Women’s Registry.’ Additionally, her brother A. Qoldashev is currently abroad, and a video call with the neighborhood youth leader has taken place. Measures are being taken to facilitate his return from migration and secure suitable employment for him within 10 days,” the district administration stated.
