According to the ministry, nearly ten employees of the airline submitted complaints over unpaid wages. The inspectorate filed claims totaling 1.5 billion UZS to recover three months’ salaries – for June through August – that had not been paid. The lawsuits also requested monetary compensation for each day of delay.
The Ministry of Employment has taken the situation under control, as it concerns non-payment of wages to Air Samarkand staff.
The ministry’s press service reported on 30 September that, up to this date, it had received around ten complaints from employees of the airline about unpaid wages.
“In order to recover the three months’ salaries that were not paid for June–August, the State Labor Inspectorate has filed claims totaling 1.5 billion UZS. The lawsuits, filed with the Samarkand City Court on civil cases, also demand the recovery of compensation for each day of delay in accordance with the law,” the statement said.
Citizens may submit employment-related complaints through the hotline 1176, the phone number (71) 200-06-00, or the Telegram bot @munosibmehnat_bot.
Earlier, reports emerged that about fifty Russian citizens had also gone without salaries from Air Samarkand for three months. The company issued a statement attributing the financial difficulties to unexpected expenses related to aircraft maintenance. The employer noted that settling the debt was considered a “priority task.”
