Foreign nationals in Uzbekistan can now extend visas online
A new feature for extending visas for stay in Uzbekistan has been introduced on the Unified Interactive Public Services Portal, the portal’s press service reported.
Foreign citizens and stateless persons can now submit applications for visa extension online in the “Citizenship” section. To do so, they must fill out an electronic form, attach a copy of their passport (or travel document), and provide a document confirming the reason for extending the visa. Applications must be submitted no later than 10 days before the visa’s expiration date.
A citizen of Uzbekistan – a close relative or authorized representative of the foreign national – may also submit the application on their behalf. In such cases, a notarized power of attorney is required.
The Department of Migration and Personalization under the Ministry of Internal Affairs reviews applications within 15 working days. If the decision is approved, the applicant receives a payment receipt for the state fee.
After the fee is paid, the passport must be submitted to the local migration office within three working days. The passport is returned with a visa extension sticker no later than two days afterward.
