Uzbekistan appoints its first ambassador to Monaco
Nodir Ganiyev, who serves as Uzbekistan’s ambassador to France and Portugal, has been appointed as the country’s first ambassador to the Principality of Monaco.
On October 7, newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Monaco, with residence in Paris, Nodir Ganiyev presented his credentials to Prince Albert II.
During the meeting, Prince Albert II highly praised the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and expressed interest in the country’s projects in the field of green energy. He also commended Uzbekistan’s efforts to develop renewable energy sources and its goal of generating 54 percent of electricity from renewables by 2030.
The monarch congratulated Uzbekistan on hosting the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, which will take place in Samarkand this autumn, describing the event as a sign of the country’s openness to the world.
Diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Monaco were established on November 29, 2013.
It should be recalled that Nodir Ganiyev was appointed Uzbekistan’s ambassador to France and presented his credentials to President Emmanuel Macron in November 2024. He also represents Uzbekistan in Portugal concurrently.
