Uzbekistan’s passport ranking drops in global index
The Henley Passport Index, which ranks the world’s most powerful passports, has been updated. As of October, Uzbekistan has fallen to 82nd place.
In September, the country was ranked 72nd. The index is compiled using data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and reflects the number of destinations citizens can visit without a visa. According to the updated index, Uzbek citizens can now travel visa-free to 61 countries, compared to 62 in September.
The performance of neighboring countries is as follows:
- Kazakhstan – 67th place, visa-free access to 78 countries
- Kyrgyzstan – 81st place, visa-free access to 62 countries
- Tajikistan – 87th place, visa-free access to 55 countries
- Turkmenistan – 93rd place, visa-free access to 48 countries
Singapore tops the list, with its citizens enjoying visa-free entry to 193 countries. It is followed by South Korea (190 countries) and Japan (189 countries). The top ten also includes Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, and Belgium.
At the bottom of the ranking are Iraq (104th place, 29 countries), Syria (105th place, 26 countries), and Afghanistan (106th place, 24 countries).
