Uzbekistan grants five-year tax incentives to satellite communication operators

Starting in 2026, services provided by satellite communication operators in Uzbekistan will be exempt from value-added tax (VAT), while their infrastructure will not be subject to land and property taxes. In addition, the operators themselves will be exempt from profit tax for a period of five years, the State Tax Committee reported.

From 1 January 2026, tax incentives will apply for five years to projects related to the establishment of medium- and low-orbit satellite communication networks through a central ground station in Uzbekistan.

Under the new rules, services delivered by satellite communication network operators via satellite systems will be exempt from VAT.

Telecommunication facilities and land plots housing central ground stations, terminals, and other active infrastructure elements of satellite networks will be exempt from property and land taxes.

Operators of satellite communication networks will also be exempt from profit tax on services provided through the established satellite communication system.

The Tax Committee noted that this new regime will be implemented after the corresponding amendments are made to the relevant articles of the Tax Code.
