Japan, Serbia and Dominican Republic appoint new ambassador to Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan has welcomed new diplomatic representatives from Japan, the Dominican Republic, and Serbia, strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, received the copies of credentials from Kenji Hirata, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan. During the meeting, the minister highlighted that the agenda for bilateral and multilateral cooperation continues to grow, driven by mutually beneficial initiatives and projects.

Saidov wished Ambassador Hirata every success in his work in Uzbekistan. Kenji Hirata succeeds Takashi Hatori, who had led the Japanese diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan since December 2022.
In a separate meeting, Minister Saidov also received the credentials of Alejandro Arias Zarzuela, who began his mission as the Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Uzbekistan.

The discussions focused on exploring opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation in various sectors, despite the geographical distance. Minister Saidov emphasized the significant potential for collaboration and extended his best wishes to Ambassador Arias Zarzuela in his work in Uzbekistan.
Additionally, the minister welcomed Momčilo Babić, the newly appointed Ambassador of Serbia to Uzbekistan. Both sides expressed readiness to further strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation across political, economic, cultural, and other spheres.
Minister Saidov wished Ambassador Babić success in his mission to deepen the partnership between the two nations.
