The contract was concluded during a signing ceremony following a bilateral roundtable attended by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick.

According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, $150 million – half of the total contract value – will be allocated for the purchase of cotton-harvesting equipment produced at the John Deere Des Moines Works factory in Ankeny, Iowa.

The agreement forms part of a series of U.S. investment and trade projects with Central Asian countries signed under the C5+1 framework, which brings together Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
