Online personal data now holds official validity in Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan has introduced a new digital procedure under which personal data accessed via the my.gov.uz Unified Interactive Public Services Portal is legally equivalent to traditional paper-based documents. The reform, effective from 1 November, aims to streamline public services, reduce bureaucracy and accelerate the country’s digital transformation.
According to the new rules, all processes related to obtaining and submitting personal information are now carried out through the my.gov.uz portal. Citizens can view their data online, share it with relevant organizations and manage it through a single digital platform.
The legal recognition of portal-based information means state bodies and other organizations may no longer require citizens to provide printed certificates or paper copies of documents that are already available on the portal. Officials expect this to significantly reduce redundant paperwork, queues and administrative delays.
The transition is also projected to save time and financial resources for both citizens and government agencies. By centralizing personal data in a unified digital source, the authorities aim to enhance service efficiency and minimize unnecessary bureaucratic procedures.
Government institutions have encouraged citizens to actively use the capabilities of the my.gov.uz portal and follow official social media channels to stay updated on new features and improvements.
