Tokayev praises Mirziyoyev’s role in shaping Central Asia as a region of friendship
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has highlighted the significant role Shavkat Mirziyoyev played in transforming Central Asia into a region recognized globally for friendship and cooperation.
Tokayev described the current level of Uzbekistan–Kazakhstan relations as unprecedented, noting that bilateral ties have risen to heights not previously seen in the history of the two countries. He stated that President Mirziyoyev’s leadership has been instrumental in this progress.
According to Tokayev, a major share of the credit for the growing perception of Central Asia as a stable and collaborative region belongs to the Uzbek leader. He also characterized Mirziyoyev as a highly respected statesman – a leader widely acknowledged by the Uzbek people, influential on the international stage and the driving force behind the construction of a “New Uzbekistan”.
Tokayev added that under Mirziyoyev’s decisive and effective leadership, Uzbekistan has achieved remarkable results across multiple sectors and is increasingly recognized worldwide as a rapidly developing nation.
