Uzbekistan, Afghanistan sign electricity delivery contract for 2026
In Tashkent, the delegations of the two countries discussed the construction of high-voltage transmission lines in Afghanistan.
On 17 November, Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov met with a delegation led by Abdul Bari Umar, CEO of Afghanistan’s DABS company, the ministry’s press service reported.

The meeting was also attended by the executives and officials of Uzbekistan’s energy companies.

The sides reviewed the current status of high-voltage transmission lines and substations being built in Afghanistan, and discussed measures to accelerate the work.

Following the talks, the parties signed a contract for the supply of electricity to Afghanistan in 2026.
