Ecology Committee issues strict air-protection requirements for all construction firms
The Ecology Committee has notified all construction firms that fines and temporary or full suspension may be imposed for non-compliance.
The National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change has sent a notice to all construction companies, reminding them of the obligation to fully comply with established requirements for protecting atmospheric air at construction sites.
Under existing legislation, all construction companies must adhere to the following rules:
- prevent dust and sand particles from rising into the air during construction activities;
- install spray nozzles and irrigation systems at the entrances and exits of construction sites;
- set up mandatory wheel-washing stations for vehicles;
- equip construction sites with barriers, protective coverings and special materials to prevent the spread of dust.
Failure to comply with these requirements may result in fines and other administrative measures.
In addition, a company’s operations may be suspended for up to 10 working days or terminated entirely.
