The operations of Maxam-Chirchiq JSC have been temporarily suspended, the Supreme Court’s press service reported.
According to the information, an inspection was carried out to assess compliance with environmental protection and rational use of natural resources legislation and regulations in the activities of Maxam-Chirchiq JSC. The inspection revealed 11 violations.
These included the dust-gas purification system failing to meet regulatory efficiency standards, emissions of pollutants above established limits, and improper placement of chemical substances outside designated areas. It was also found that chemical components in wastewater were being discharged in excess of permitted levels and that compensation payments had not been made fully and on time, resulting in non-compliance with current legislation.
For these reasons, the Ecology Committee (formerly the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change) filed a claim in court requesting that the company’s operations be suspended until the identified violations are eliminated.
By the ruling of the Chirchiq Inter-district Economic Court dated 26 November 2025, the operations of Maxam-Chirchiq JSC were temporarily suspended.
