Tashkent authorities halt construction at 15 sites over air pollution violations
Inspections resulted in 70 people facing administrative liability, while another 68 received official warnings.

The National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Construction, the Energy Inspection Agency, the Construction Inspection Agency, the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service, and other relevant ministries and agencies conducted a comprehensive review of construction sites across all 12 districts of Tashkent. A total of 140 staff members were involved in the process.
During the inspections, 96 construction sites were examined. Violations of mandatory requirements to prevent air pollution from dust and sand were identified at 60 sites. In addition, 47 sites failed to meet the requirement to allocate 25 percent of the construction area for landscaping.
Strict measures were taken in response to the violations: construction activities were temporarily halted at 15 sites, 70 individuals were held administratively liable, and 68 individuals received official warnings.
Furthermore, 24 sites were required to install wheel-washing systems, while 62 sites have now been equipped with pools for washing vehicle tires.
