FIDE updates November rankings: Abdusattorov sees rating setback while Sindarov climbs three positions

The International Chess Federation (FIDE) has released its updated global ratings for the end of November, with five Uzbek grandmasters appearing in the world’s top 100. The latest list brought mixed outcomes for Uzbekistan’s leading players, including a sharp drop for Nodirbek Abdusattorov and an impressive rise for Javokhir Sindarov.

Norwegian world champion Magnus Carlsen retained his position at the top with 2840 points. American grandmasters Hikaru Nakamura (2810) and Fabiano Caruana (2795) completed the top three. Compared with last month, Nakamura lost three rating points, while Caruana’s rating remained unchanged, but the trio maintained their standings.

Nodirbek Abdusattorov continues to lead Uzbekistan’s chess rankings, but November proved challenging for the 20-year-old grandmaster. His rating dropped by 18 points to 2732, pushing him five places down to 17th in the world.

Despite the decline, Abdusattorov remains among the top contenders globally and by far the highest-rated Uzbek player.

Javokhir Sindarov posted the strongest performance among Uzbek players this month, rising three spots to 22nd with a rating of 2726. His victory at the FIDE World Cup in Goa, where he defeated China’s Wei Yi in a dramatic tiebreak, earned him six additional points and boosted his global standing.

After two consecutive months of progress, Nodirbek Yakubboyev dropped one position in November. The fourth-place finisher at the Goa World Cup now stands at 38th in the world with a rating of 2691.

Former world champion Rustam Kasimdjanov fell from 46th to 47th, holding 2671 points, while Shamsiddin Vakhidov retained a place in the top 100 at 85th with a rating of 2641.

In the team rankings, the Uzbekistan Chess Federation holds 12th place with an average rating of 2605.
