The figures reveal that the average daily water consumption per capita in Uzbekistan stands at approximately 4,778 liters. This high volume places the country among the top water consumers globally and highlights a shared regional trend across Central Asia.
Among neighboring states, Kazakhstan uses around 3,397 liters per day, Kyrgyzstan consumes about 4,153 liters, and Tajikistan reaches 4,460 liters. Meanwhile, Turkmenistan leads both the region and the entire world, topping the global list with an average daily water consumption of 15,445 liters per person.
The global top ten countries for per capita water consumption features a heavy Central Asian presence. Behind Turkmenistan, Chile occupies the second spot with 5,880 liters per day, followed by Guyana at 5,284 liters. Uzbekistan ranks fourth globally with 4,778 liters. The remaining positions in the top ten are occupied by Tajikistan (4,460 liters), Kyrgyzstan (4,153 liters), the United States (3,732 liters), Iran (3,638 liters), Estonia (3,585 liters), and Azerbaijan (3,512 liters).
In stark contrast to these high figures, the lowest levels of water consumption are concentrated in African nations. The Democratic Republic of the Congo recorded the lowest global usage, with its citizens consuming a mere 32 liters of water per person each day.
