Government rolls out color-coded eco-stickers to classify vehicles by emissions
Uzbekistan has approved a new regulation that classifies vehicles by their emissions level and introduces color-coded eco-stickers as part of efforts to reduce air pollution. The system divides cars into three ecological categories – clean, medium and harmful – based on their manufacturer-assigned emission class.

According to the regulation, gasoline, compressed-gas and liquefied-gas vehicles meeting the Euro-2 standard or higher fall into the “clean” category, while those rated Euro-0 or Euro-1 are assigned to the “medium” category.
For diesel vehicles, Euro-4 and above qualify as “clean,” Euro-3 as “medium,” and Euro-0 to Euro-2 are classified as “harmful.”
Hybrid vehicles, cars running on alternative fuels, and vehicles manufactured within the past three years are automatically placed in the “clean” category.
Based on these classifications, car owners will receive eco-stickers during vehicle registration or re-registration.
• Clean category – green sticker
• Medium category – yellow sticker
• Harmful category – red sticker
The stickers will be issued by environmental operators at State Traffic Safety Department units.
Vehicle owners may also voluntarily apply for an eco-sticker through the official website of the State Traffic Safety Department or via the unified government portal my.gov.uz. If the application meets the required criteria, the sticker corresponding to the vehicle’s ecological category will be issued.
Eco-stickers are granted without an expiration date.
