Competition Committee acts against coordinated price increases in liquefied gas market
The Competition Committee of Uzbekistan has launched an investigation following signs of unjustified price increases for liquefied gas observed in November–December 2025 during temporary methane supply restrictions.
According to the committee, warnings were issued to market participants during this period, urging them not to exploit the temporary methane limitations to raise liquefied gas prices without justification.
Despite these preventive measures, indications of market manipulation and coordinated actions aimed at inflating prices by certain businesses have been detected, violating principles of a fair market.
Based on these findings, the committee has initiated proceedings for possible violations of legislation.
In ddition, corrective measures are being applied in exchange trades to stabilize prices. Market participants have been instructed to release products for trading in full and simultaneously to ensure proper market functioning.
