Amendments and additions concerning the rights of convicts have been introduced to the Criminal Enforcement Code, the Ministry of Justice reported.
It was noted that amendments and additions have been introduced that provide for the establishment of the right of convicts deprived of liberty to use remote video calls.
Convicts have now been granted the right, at their own personal expense, to one remote video call or a telephone conversation lasting 15 minutes, to be used once.
Previously, it was stipulated that a convict had only the right to one telephone conversation lasting 15 minutes.
The law entered into force on the day of its official publication – January 15.
