The Azerbaijani leader was received at Tashkent’s Humo International Airport by President Mirziyoyev. The national flags of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan were raised at the airport, where a guard of honor was also drawn up to welcome the high-ranking guest.

A formal reception ceremony was later held at the Kuksaroy residence. President Mirziyoyev warmly welcomed Aliyev and invited him to the ceremonial podium, where the national anthems of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan were performed. The two leaders then reviewed the guard of honor and greeted members of their official delegations before posing for a joint photograph.
Following the ceremony, the presidents began high-level talks focused on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between the two countries.

The visit also includes the third meeting of the Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Supreme Interstate Council. The talks are expected to address key areas of bilateral cooperation and outline new avenues for deepening strategic ties.


A substantial package of bilateral documents is expected to be signed during the summit. The two sides also plan to launch a number of economic and humanitarian projects, stressing their intention to further expand practical cooperation and strengthen relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
