Temporary restrictions reintroduced on methane refueling stations across Uzbekistan
Due to a drop in air temperatures and an increase in demand for natural gas, gas pressure in pipelines has declined in certain regions. To prioritize supply to households and social sector facilities, temporary restrictions have been introduced on the operation of methane refueling stations.

“The country’s energy system is currently operating under a reinforced 24-hour regime to ensure uninterrupted delivery of energy resources to consumers,” the Ministry of Energy said in a statement. “Regional authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and any technical faults that arise are being addressed promptly.”
The sharp decline in temperatures has led to a surge in natural gas consumption, causing lower pipeline pressures in some areas. Ensuring reliable gas supply to households, healthcare institutions, and educational facilities remains the top priority.
As a result, automobile gas-filling compressor stations (methane refueling stations) are temporarily limited in their operations.
“These measures are intended solely to stabilize gas delivery to the population during cold weather and will be lifted once conditions normalize. Updates on regional developments will be provided as necessary,” the statement reads.
Meanwhile, gas supply to social sector facilities and public transport vehicles will continue uninterrupted. Maintaining stable fuel access for these sectors is crucial to ensuring essential services for the public are not disrupted.
