Inmate dies in Kattakurgan detention facility, Interior Ministry issues official statement
A 35-year-old citizen has died while being held at a detention facility in the Kattakurgan district of the Samarkand region. According to official reports, the individual passed away while being transported to a medical facility after his health condition deteriorated.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the incident occurred on February 21 at approximately 17:35 at Investigation Detention Center No. 7 in the Kattakurgan district. The deceased, identified as citizen Kh.K. (born in 1991), had been taken into custody by the prosecutor's office. He was facing charges under Article 168, Part 3, Clause "v", as well as Articles 28 and 211, Part 1, of the Criminal Code.
At approximately 18:00, while being rushed to a medical center due to a sudden and sharp decline in his health, the detainee passed away. According to the preliminary forensic medical examination, the cause of death was identified as "severe complications of type 2 diabetes." The report further noted that no visible injuries or signs of physical trauma were found on the body.
The Ministry's statement also clarified that the defendant had been taken to a hospital previously on February 18 due to illness. At that time, his relatives were informed, and a meeting was organized at the medical facility. Following an assessment by doctors who deemed his condition satisfactory, he was returned to the detention center on February 20.
The case is currently under investigation by the prosecutor's office to ensure a comprehensive review of the circumstances surrounding the death.
