In January 2026, a total of 22,099 passenger cars were manufactured in Uzbekistan. This represents a notable increase of 6,846 units compared to the same period in 2025. This upward trend was reflected across all automotive companies operating in the country, signaling a broader expansion of the industrial sector.

The Chevrolet Cobalt maintained its position as the market leader, accounting for the largest share of production. A total of 6,993 Cobalt units were produced in January, up from 5,660 units during the same month last year.

Other models and brands also showed improved performance:

  • Damas – 3,628 units (up from 2,765 in Jan 2025)
  • Kia – 2,298 units (up from 1,978 in Jan 2025)
  • Onix – 1,974 units (up from 1,462 in Jan 2025)
  • Tracker – 1,900 units (up from 1,334 in Jan 2025)
  • BYD – 1,352 units (up from 802 in Jan 2025)
  • Haval – 1,135 units (up from 373 in Jan 2025)
  • Chery – 757 units (up from 594 in Jan 2025)

The recent production spike aligns with the "Uzbekistan 2030" strategy, which sets ambitious targets for the domestic automotive industry. While the country produced 257,800 passenger cars in 2025, the government aims to scale this figure to 1 million units annually within the next five years.

To achieve this milestone, the production roadmap outlines the following targets:

  • 2027 – 550,000 units
  • 2028 – 700,000 units
  • 2029 – 800,000 units
  • 2030 – 1,000,000 units
