Ministry of Energy extends heating season gas norms until mid–March due to cold weather reports
The Ministry of Energy has announced an extension of the winter base consumption quota for natural gas across all regions of the republic. The 500-cubic-meter monthly limit, originally established for the peak heating season, will now remain in effect until March 15.

According to the ministry's press service, this decision was made in response to updated meteorological forecasts. Cold air masses are expected to move across the country, necessitating continued higher gas usage for household heating to ensure public comfort and safety.
The ministry indicated that the situation remains under review. After March 15, authorities will evaluate whether further measures or additional extensions are required based on the prevailing weather patterns at that time.
Under standard regulations, the base monthly consumption norm for natural gas significantly decreases during the non-heating season. From March through October, the base rate is typically set at 100 cubic meters per month. This temporary extension provides a crucial buffer for consumers during the current unseasonable cold snap.
