Beef imports to Uzbekistan nearly double year-on-year
Uzbekistan imported nearly $157 million worth of meat and meat products in the first two months of 2026.
Between January and February 2026, Uzbekistan imported meat and meat products worth $156.9 million, according to data published by the Customs Committee.
The largest share of imports consisted of beef. During the two-month period, the country purchased 25,900 tons of beef from abroad with a total value of $120 million.
For comparison, in the same period of 2025, Uzbekistan imported 17,300 tons of beef worth $68.3 million. This means the value of beef imports has nearly doubled year-on-year.
Imports of chicken meat also increased slightly. In January – February 2026, the country imported chicken meat worth $13.7 million, compared with $11.4 million during the same period in 2025.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan imported 3,300 tons of lamb valued at $8.1 million. In the first two months of last year, the country imported 3,400 tons of lamb worth $3.4 million. While the volume decreased slightly, the total value rose significantly, indicating a sharp increase in prices.
Imports of meat by-products reached $5.9 million in January – February 2026, compared with $2.8 million in the same period of 2025.
At the same time, Uzbekistan purchased $4.6 million worth of canned meat products from foreign markets, which is $1.8 million more than in the corresponding period last year.
During the first two months of the year, Uzbekistan imported duck meat worth $521,700, marking a nearly 35-fold increase compared with the same period in 2025.
