Namangan expands urban sanitation with underground storage complex
Authorities in Namangan have installed a new underground waste storage facility designed to improve sanitation and urban comfort.
According to the Agency for Waste Management and Circular Economy Development, the facility, located on Obi Hayot Street in Namangan city, features six semi-underground containers with a capacity of 500 kilograms each. Currently, three of the containers are operational.
The system can hold up to three tons of waste. Once the containers reach full capacity, a special device automatically signals for the collected waste to be transported to a designated landfill
This initiative follows a similar project in Samarkand and plans are underway to install additional complexes in the Yangi Namangan and Davlatabad districts.
According to the agency, the underground storage units aim to prevent scattered household waste, reduce unpleasant odors during hot weather, and create more comfortable urban conditions for residents.
