Uzbekistan sends over 290 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan
Uzbekistan has delivered more than 290 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan to support the Afghan people ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported that on March 18, 2026, a humanitarian shipment was officially handed over to Afghan authorities. The initiative aims to strengthen bilateral ties, reinforce friendly relations, and provide support to Afghanistan during the holy month of Ramadan.
The humanitarian cargo, weighing over 290 tons, includes flour, rice, wheat, vegetable oil, instant food products, pasta, confectionery, and other essential items.
The official handover ceremony took place in the city of Hairaton.

During the ceremony, deputy governor of Balkh province, along with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Balkh office and the Hairaton city administration, expressed sincere gratitude to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for Uzbekistan’s ongoing attention, support, and solidarity with the Afghan people.

The event was also attended by Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Afghanistan, Oybek Usmanov, and the governor of Surkhandarya region, Ulugbek Qosimov.
