According to a report from the Ministry of Transport, the new subsidiary, named Avion, is set to specialize in the inspection and calibration of radio-technical equipment and visual landing aids at airports. Beyond these core functions, the airline will also be responsible for "executing special tasks" related to aviation safety and infrastructure monitoring.
To facilitate these operations, the company has acquired a specialized laboratory aircraft. The vessel is equipped with high-precision systems designed to evaluate whether air navigation systems comply with international requirements and the standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Video footage released by the ministry confirms that the aircraft is a Diamond DA62 manufactured by the Austrian company Diamond Aircraft Industries. Specifically, the model is the DA62 MPP (Multi Purpose Platform) modification, which is widely utilized for aerial surveillance. This particular version is suitable for a variety of critical functions, including search and rescue missions, border patrolling, emergency management, environmental monitoring, and the precise calibration of instrument landing systems.
The Ministry of Transport noted that establishing an in-house service provider for airfield system verification will allow for faster, more accurate, and more technologically advanced inspections.
