According to the presentation, a 16-kilometer stretch of the Chirchik River running through the capital will be redeveloped under the “Daryo Bo‘yi” (Riverside) project, covering 306 hectares.
The project includes strengthening riverbanks, creating green areas, and developing commercial and service facilities. Along the Bektemir Canal, a 187.3-hectare green belt will be created. Pedestrian and cycling paths, internal roads, lighting systems, and bridges will also be built.
Plans to create four artificial lakes and reservoirs in the capital were also presented. However, Mirziyoyev said this would be insufficient to improve living conditions and create a cooler urban environment, instructing officials to increase the number of lakes to 12.
