China remains Uzbekistan’s top trading partner with $4.6 billion in quarterly turnover
Uzbekistan currently maintains active trade relations with more than 170 countries, with China and the Russian Federation emerging as the dominant partners, collectively accounting for 43.8% of the country’s total trade volume.
According to the latest report from the National Statistics Committee, Beijing has solidified its position as the leading commercial partner for Tashkent.
In the first quarter of 2026, the trade turnover with China exceeded $4.6 billion, representing 25.6% of Uzbekistan’s total foreign trade. This figure marks a significant increase of $1.6 billion compared to the same period in 2025. Meanwhile, trade with the Russian Federation reached $3.3 billion, or 18.2% of the total volume, reflecting an increase of $618 million over the previous year's figures.
The reporting period also saw remarkable growth in trade with several other partners. Commercial exchange with Ireland surged from $17.2 million to $102.7 million, while turnover with Hong Kong grew from $24.2 million to $155.7 million. Within the Central Asian region, trade with Kyrgyzstan showed steady momentum, rising from $154.6 million to $221.7 million.
Overall, Uzbekistan’s total foreign trade turnover for the first three months of 2026 amounted to $18 billion. This represents a year-on-year increase of $471 million.
